Apply (ITA) for permanent residency in Canada

The Express Entry Program is a popular method for skilled professionals to immigrate to Canada.

It uses a system that assigns points based on several factors, such as age, education, language proficiency, work experience, and other considerations to assess the eligibility of candidates for permanent residency.

What to do?

Candidates must create an online profile on the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website and provide information about their skills and qualifications. They are ranked in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and placed in a pool of candidates. The IRCC selects candidates from the pool through periodic draws and invites them to apply for permanent residency in Canada.

Canada "EEP" or Express Entry Program Brief

The Express Entry Program, or EEP, has made the immigration process for professionals more efficient and transparent. Some important details of the program include:

  • The program is entirely online and has no limit on the number of applicants. It is open throughout the year.
  • The program applies to three specific immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Entrepreneurs Program, and Canadian Experience Class Immigration Program.
  • To apply, you must submit an Expression of Interest and qualify for one of the job categories listed under Skill Types 0, A, or B.
  • Your profile will be assessed based on points and placed in the applicant pool, which is accessible to Canadian provinces and employers seeking talent.
  • The highest-scoring applicants will receive an Invitation to Apply for Permanent Residency.
  • The number of ITAs issued is determined by the Annual Immigration Level.

Do you Know?

Migration can be both for the short term or on a permanent basis. Those who decide to live in permanently in another country are deemed to be the “permanent residents” of that country.

ELIGIBILITY FOR "EEP" or Express Entry Program:

The Canada “EEP” or Express Entry Program utilizes a points-based system to evaluate applicants, with the aim of identifying those who are most likely to succeed after immigrating to Canada. The points system, with a maximum score of 1200, evaluates both you and your spouse (if applicable) on various factors including age, education level, language skills, Canadian work experience, other work experience, skill transferability, and other factors.

Benefits of the Express Entry System:

The Express Entry system offers transparency to applicants by providing them with information on the CRS points required to be eligible for an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence. If an applicant does not meet the median score required for the ITA, they can improve their CRS score or explore other options such as improving their language test results, gaining additional work experience, studying in Canada, or obtaining a provincial nomination.

Calculate your Eligibility points:

Applicants who are young, have a higher education level, proficiency in English or French or both, or Canadian experience as employees or students have the potential to achieve a higher CRS score and be selected through the Express Entry system. Additionally, those who receive a provincial nomination or have a job offer in Canada or siblings residing in the country are eligible for additional points. VFS – VisaFormServices.com

Having Questions?

All About Canada PR

Depending on your situation, you may be required to provide additional documents, so ensure that you have them all ready.

After receiving an ITA, you have 90 days to submit a precise and complete application. It's crucial to utilize this period effectively because if you fail to submit your application within the given timeframe, your invitation will no longer be valid.

To submit a complete application, you must gather all the necessary documents. Once you receive an ITA, you will know which program you have been selected to apply for your PR visa, such as CEC or another Express Entry program. On the Express Entry portal, you will find a list of specific documents required for the program you applied for, which may include supporting documents for your language test results, civil status documents like your birth certificate, education and work experience proof, a medical certificate, police clearance certificate, proof of funds, and photos. Additionally, you must obtain a medical certificate from an IRCC-approved doctor. Depending on your situation, you may be required to provide additional documents, so ensure that you have them all ready.

Considerations!

To be considered for the Express Entry Program (EEP), you must have a minimum of 67 out of 100 points. The EEP utilizes a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) to evaluate applicants based on their skills, experience, Canadian employment status, and provincial/territorial nomination. The higher your CRS score, the better your chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency in Canada. Express Entry draws are held regularly, and each draw has a minimum cutoff score. Applicants with a CRS score equal to or above the cutoff score will receive an ITA. In cases where multiple candidates have the same score as the cutoff score, the applicant with a longer presence in the Express Entry pool will receive an ITA.
